Definition

A Core Transport Agent (CTA) is a non-utility entity that purchases natural gas on behalf of core customers and arranges for its delivery through the utility's system.

What a CTA does — and doesn't

A CTA buys and schedules gas supply and sets the supply price under your contract. It does not own the pipes or handle emergencies; that remains the utility's role.
